Q: What is this place?
A: This is RustyGoose. We are a hybrid softcore server with both PVP and PVE players.
Q: What does Softcore mean?
A: Softcore is a type of game mode that is more forgiving towards players. For example; if you die, you will keep 50% of your inventory! For more information on Softcore please go to: https://rust.facepunch.com/news/soft-refresh
Q: Can I choose if I want to be PVP or PVE?
A: Yes! Simply go to a safe zone (outpost, bandit camp, ranch, barn or fishing villages) and type /flag in chat. If you have team mates they must be online and in a safe zone for you to change.
Q: Can I flag PVP but my team mate stays PVE?
A: No, all team members must be the same. If one goes PVP you are all PVP.
Q: Where’s the PVP at?
A: PVP can be anywhere on the map! But specific locations include Launch and some Monuments during the Monument Events.
Q: When Wipe?
A: Our server wipes fortnightly, with the occasional 1 Week wipe thrown in. Type /wipe in game to find out more.
Q: What is SkillTree?
A: SkillTree allows you to modify your experience on the server! Whether you want more resources or take less cold damage in the snow, the choices are up to you! Type /st to see the full list of perks available.
Q: How do I unlock more of my SkillTree?
A: By simply playing on the server! It’s that easy. Everyday rust activities and events will grant you xp to level up fast!
Q: Can people loot the Giant Excavator if I put fuel in it?
A: No. All of our public quarries are instanced. Meaning only you can retrieve the fuel and loot from them.
Q: What is RP?
A: RP is the currency you use in /s.
Q: Does RP carry over between wipes?
A: No.
Q: If you die and you have stuff in your backpack, what happens to it?
A: Your backpack is like another inventory. If you die, you will lose your backpack, but if you return to where you died, you will be able to retrieve it.
